তাঁর সম্মানে খুশি রাজবংশী মানুষ, খুশি রাজ্যবাসী
আজ খবর (বাংলা), [রাজ্য] হলদিবাড়ি, কোচবিহার , ২৫/০১/২০২৬ : পদ্মশ্রী সম্মান পেলেন কোচবিহারে জেলার হলদিবাড়ির বাসিন্দা অধ্যাপক ড. মহেন্দ্রনাথ রায়। পদ্মশ্রী প্রাপক হিসেবে তাঁর নাম ঘোষণা হওয়ায় আপ্লুত মহেন্দ্রবাবু।
রাষ্ট্রপতি পুরস্কার পেয়ে নিজের জেলা কোচবিহারকে গর্বিত করেছেন, সেই সঙ্গে সমগ্র রাজ্যের মানুষেই গর্বিত করেছেন বিজ্ঞানী মহেন্দ্রনাথ রায়।
২০২২ সালে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের হাত থেকে পেয়েছিলেন বঙ্গবিভূষণ সম্মান। আর এবার পদ্মশ্রী সম্মান পাচ্ছেন অধ্যাপক ড: মহেন্দ্র নাথ রায় । খুশি উত্তরবঙ্গের রাজবংশী জনজাতির মানুষ।
ড. মহেন্দ্রনাথ রায় একজন বিজ্ঞানী, আলিপুরদুয়ার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাক্তন উপাচার্য। বর্তমানে উত্তরবঙ্গ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীক্ষক।
Aaj Khabor Desk, Haldibari, Coachbehar, 25/01/2026 : Professor Dr. Mahendranath Ray, a resident of Haldibari in Cooch Behar district, has been awarded the Padma Shri, bringing pride to his district and the entire state. Expressing deep emotion after the announcement, Dr. Ray said the honor belongs to the people of Cooch Behar as much as to him. A distinguished scientist, he previously received the Banga Bibhushan award in 2022 from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Padma Shri recognition has been warmly welcomed, especially by members of the Rajbanshi community in North Bengal. Dr. Ray is a former Vice-Chancellor of Alipurduar University and is currently serving as the Chancellor (Adhikshak) of the University of North Bengal.
