“পঞ্চায়েতের তহবিল শূন্য, টাকা এলে আর সেতু পারাবারের টাকা নেওয়া হবে না “
আজ খবর (বাংলা), [রাজ্য] চন্দ্রকোনা, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, ০৭/০২/২০২৬ :এলাকার মানুষের পারাপারের একমাত্র সম্বল দুটি কাঠের সাঁকো। সেই সাঁকো দুটি টেন্ডার ডেকে ব্যক্তি মালিকানা হাতে তুলে দিয়েছে গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত। যার ফলে সাঁকো পারাপারের জন্য নেওয়া হচ্ছে মোটা টাকা। ঘটনায় ক্ষুব্ধ গ্রামের মানুষ। শুরু রাজনৈতিক তরজা, বাম-বিজেপি তীব্রভাবে কটাক্ষ করেছে তৃণমূলকে। ২০২৬ নির্বাচনে বিরোধীরা এটা হাতিয়ার করছে।
পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা চন্দ্রকোনা ১ নম্বর ব্লকের মনোহরপুর এক গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের ঘটনা। মনোহরপুর ১ গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতেকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করেছে শীলাবতী নদী। সেই নদীর উপর রয়েছে দুইটি কাঠের সেতু, আর সেই সেতুদিয়ে যাতায়াত করতে হয় গ্রামবাসীকে। গাংচা হাই স্কুলের সামনে গাংচা ঘাট ও রাসবিহারী ঘাটের পারাপারের জন্য শিলাবতী নদীর উপর কাঠের সাঁকো গুলি ভরসা। পঞ্চায়েত এলাকার বেশিরভাগ মানুষেরই তাদের একমাত্র অবলম্বন নদীর উপর কাঠের সাঁকো। আর সেই কাঠের সাঁকো বর্তমানে টেন্ডার ডেকে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের জন্য ব্যক্তি মালিকানা হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
এর ফলেই পারাপারের জন্য টাকা দিতে হচ্ছে গ্রামের মানুষজনকে ।
গাঁঠের কড়ি দিয়ে যাতায়াতের ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে দেখা দিয়েছে ক্ষোভ। তাদের দাবি আমরা ভোট দিচ্ছি, তারপরও কেন যাতায়াতের জন্য টাকা দিতে হবে ? তৃণমূল পরিচালিত গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতেকে কটাক্ষ করতে শুরু করেছে রাম-বিজেপি।
অপরদিকে সাঁকো টেন্ডার নেওয়া ব্যক্তিদের অভিযোগ সাঁকো থেকে কিভাবে টাকা উঠবে বুঝতে পারছে না তারা ।
এ বিষয়ে গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের প্রধান রাম কোটল বলেন, “গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের তহবিল একেবারেই শূন্য, টাকা নেই . তাই এই ধরনের ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে, গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের তহবিলে টাকা আসলে পারাপারের জন্য টাকা নেওয়া হবেনা।

Meanwhile, the individuals who won the tender claim they are unsure how : to recover their maintenance costs. Responding to the criticism, the gram panchayat pradhan stated that the panchayat fund is currently empty and assured that tolls will be withdrawn once funds are available.
