বঙ্গোপসাগর একটি কম্পন হিসেবে চিহ্নিত রয়েছে
বঙ্গোপসাগরে ভূমিকম্প আজ খবর (বাংলা), [দেশ], নতুন দিল্লী,ভারত, ১১/০২/২০২৬ : আজ ভোর রাতে ভূমিকম্প হয়েছে বঙ্গোপসাগর অঞ্চলে। এই কম্পনকে মাঝারি মাপের ভূমিকম্প হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে।
ন্যাশনাল সেন্টার অফ সিসমোলোজি জানিয়েছে আজ ভোর রাত্রি ৫:১২ মিনিটে ভূকম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে বঙ্গোপসাগর অঞ্চলে। রিখটার স্কেলে এই ভূমিকম্পের মাত্রা ছিল ৪.৩ বলে জানা গিয়েছে। ভূকম্পনের উৎস্য ও কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল সমুদ্রতল থেকে ১০ কিলোমিটার গভীরে। এই ভূকম্পনের ফলে সুনামির কোনো সতর্কবার্তা দেয় হয় নি। যদিও বঙ্গোপসাগর অঞ্চল যথেষ্ট ভূকম্পন এলাকা হিসেবে চিহ্নিত রয়েছে।
প্রসঙ্গত উল্লেখ্য, গত ডিসেম্বর মাসেও বঙ্গোপসাগর অঞ্চলে ভূমিকম্প অনুভূত হয়েছিল। সেদিন ১১:৪৮ মিনিটে ভূকম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছিল, রিখটার স্কেলে যার মাত্রা ছিল ৪.৪ ; সেই ভূকম্পনের কেন্দ্র ছিল ১৫ কিলোমিটার গভীরে।
On February 11, 2026, a moderate earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal region early in the morning. According to the National Center of Seismology, the tremor was felt at 5:12 AM and measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. The earthquake originated at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the seabed. No tsunami warning was issued following the quake, although the Bay of Bengal is recognized as a seismically active zone.
It is worth noting that a similar earthquake occurred in the region last December at 11:48 AM, measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre located 15 kilometers deep.
